Frequently asked questions

Short answers about renting a scooter with AuBanan. Anything else? Just message us on WhatsApp.

How does booking work?

Choose your scooter and dates in the booking form and send it. The booking is non-binding: we confirm it on WhatsApp. Cancelling is free.

What is the minimum rental?

5 days. The longer you rent, the lower the daily price.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No deposit. Your passport stays with you. We only need a photo of the page with your photo and name.

How do I pay?

In cash (THB) at handover. You pay nothing online.

Do you deliver the scooter?

Yes, Monday to Saturday until 18:00, or you pick it up at our shop in Lamai. Delivery costs 200 THB up to 5 km from our shop, plus 100 THB for every further 5 km, at most 500 THB per trip. 1 or 2 scooters cost the same. Collection is charged the same way. No delivery to the airport or the pier, and no delivery or collection on Sundays.

Are helmets included?

Yes, free of charge: up to 2 adult and 2 kids' helmets per scooter. Each scooter carries at most 2 adults plus up to 2 children.

Which fuel do I use?

You get the scooter with a full tank and return it full, with Gasohol 95 only. Each missing bar on the fuel gauge costs 50 THB.

What if I return the scooter late?

Up to 60 minutes late is free. Up to 12 hours late counts as half a rental day, more as a full day. Want to keep it longer? Just message us on WhatsApp beforehand.

What happens if there is damage?

We film the scooter's condition at handover and send you the video on WhatsApp. Damaged parts are charged according to our public price list, plus 500 THB workshop fee. For a total loss, the current value of the scooter applies.

Can I ride into the mountains?

Yes, at your own risk. Please take extra care on very steep roads such as Pra Buddha Dipankara, The Roof or Overlap Stone.

Can I take the scooter to another island?

No, the scooters stay on Koh Samui. Taking one off the island costs 10,000 THB. All scooters have GPS.

Can I choose the colour?

The photos are examples. You can wish for a colour when booking. We do our best, but we can't guarantee it.

What if I lose the key?

A lost keyless key costs 2,400 THB, a normal key 500 THB.

How do I change or cancel my booking?

Under “My booking” with your booking number and WhatsApp number, or simply message us on WhatsApp.
